REVIEW : JT Exhaust by Vector Auto Tuning

Here is my review of the system I purchased from Vector.
1st of all Mike was very fast at responding to ALL my emails, and phonecalls. Was always polite. I do NOT blame the DP issue on him. Dookie happens with aftermarket stuff, and this isn't the first time i've ordered parts for a car that were supposed to be "bolt on" which did not.
I ordered the part late in June, took a few weeks to get here which is completely understandable since it shipped from Sweden.
Parts look good. Especially for a system that was $700 shipped from Sweden. I couldn't tell you if it's stainless steel or not, if it is then it's not the shiney purdey kind. System is a full turbo back 3" system with manderel bends.
1 muffler at the rear of car, other than that straight pipe.
I got the wrong DP. The one shipped will not fit. It has to be for a non-AWD car. It hits the angle gear, the o2 sensor would smack into angle gear also. UGH
I don't want to wait weeks for another dp so I modify this one to fit. Took me all day, especially since i'm not prepared for doing exhaust work.
Also this dp has no provisions for the front rubber mounts, which I will easily overcome by welding the ones from my stock DP on.
Rear section of exhaust went on with a little struggle. There is NO o2 sensor bung for the rear o2 sensor. Once again easily overcome, just welded one on. Also, the rear provisions for the rubber mounts just behind the differential are in the wrong position. Again some jockeying with the mounts and I was able to make it work.
The curved part leading to the muffler worked fine.
The muffler fits fine also, little tight on space around it, as in clearance between the bumper cover, and the left rear plastic wheelwell. It does clear all the way around, however I will be keeping a close eye on this.
I have not heard it run yet, just got the dp buttoned up late this evening, and have to do the final install of it tomorrow a.m. Rest of the system is in awaiting the dp for final alignment.
Here's my opinion.......
For the price, you cannot beat this.
I was very disappointed in the dp issue. I was very specific on exactly what car this was going on. About all I salvaged from it was the flange and the 1st bend, and the flexjoint. All the rest was completely reworked by me and looks like dirty ass now because I have no welding skills but i'm sure it'll hold fine.
Rear o2 bung being missing, eh no biggie, especially at the price.
I will post a few crap ass camera phone pics of the system right after I unboxed it, and will take a few of how the tailpipe looks on my car. It's a 4" shiney thing, looks good IMO.

Upon further investigation, I got shipped a system for a 2wd. This explains why the rear mounts don't line up, downpipe trouble.

You're far more understanding than I would have been ESPECIALLY since I have no welding skills and couldn't just tack on new mounts or an 02 sensor.
Good for you for having the know-how and ability to make it work!
-Eric

Around me is a place that can do the DP/Cat-back for about the same price of $700 in SS mandrel bent, great quality. This place even makes FMIC!

Well it's all on the car, had after getting it all installed I drove it to an exhaust shop to do some adjustments. The flange ended up against the driveshaft support brace so I had them fix it, as well as welding the system up tight.
It is a little louder than I thought it would be, but it does have a nice deep tone. I like it.

I was interested in the system, but sounds like too much trouble to me. I don't know if by bad luck you were shipped the wrong system, or they simply do not make one for the R.

Re: (mrumiano)

Yeah dunno what to tell you there.
From what I understand there isn't any difference between the R and AWD. 2WD is definitely different.

That thing has got to be ridiculously loud. My prediction is that it only lasts for a month in its current configuration before you get really really really tired of the noise and add a resonator and/or a different muffler.
Cheers,
J

Any videos with the sound yet?? I'm interested to see what it sounds like. I don't think you got robbed though, the DP I would have returned and got the right one but for $700 it's not bad.

Indeed resonator it will be getting.
Yes I have a CEL as any catless downpipe will give you. Several ways to overcome this easily.
It does have a deep tone, definitely on the loud side.
If the part didn't have to go back to sweden to get exchanged I would have gotten the right one. The whole kit was for a 2wd, not only was the dp different, the hangar locations were wrong too.
