Okay,
Yeah I know it's not a Volvo, but it is a decent car for my lil sister. She needs an exhaust for the car and I have no ideas on who makes a good and quiet system for it. It is a 97 VW Jetta with 4 cyl and auto. Any ideas? I have hit vwvortex and did not see anything right away. Any ideas or suggestions? TIA
Prospero

How about just a stock VW replacement exhaust? Are you looking for stock size (2") or aftermarket (2.25")? I'd suspect that a stock system will be the least noisy, but there are probably some aftermarket 2.25" cat back systems that aren't too much louder. I don't know which are the quietest, so post a message at the G/JIII forum at vwvortex and see what they say. Good luck, and here are a couple of places to check out as well as a thread form vwvortex about exhausts.
http://www.tttuning.com
http://www.parts4vws.com/
http://forums.vwvortex.com/vwbb/Forum3/HTML/023769.html

I'm sure Borla makes a cat-back setup for that car. Slap it on and don't ever think about it again no matter how long she owns the car.
cheers,
scott

At least it's a "good" loud, nice and deep.

Wow all, thanks for the input. I will likely go with the TT w/dynomax turbo on the car. I don't think my sister will keep it for more than a few years so stainless is a bit much of an overkill. (Besides, she is a FT student and only has pennies to spend.) I will let you know what it sounds like and if there is any performance increase.
Prospero
