Massive car porn for those who like pictures of beautiful pieces of metal. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

The piston top seen is very similiar configuration only much lighter and stronger and has relocated ring lands and most importantly modified piston skirts to accomodate non tapered wrist pin bores on the rods.

Note the same valve knotches as on the stock piston top (In Boosted S60R's pictures of his cracked block you could see these)

Cross drilled and chamfered crankshaft porn

DROOL !!!!!!!!!! What rods are they? Any of you guys ever try ceramic coating? Ceramic coated the piston tops on a big power 4 cyl turbo motor a few years back, GREATLY lowered the oil temp under hard use.

Re: (BellevilleV70)

Pauter Rods (amazing strength, design, and quality)..I did not use coatings but my friend doing a major build up did. I used the money
instead on rings and wrist pins from JE. I figure I will use good Redline
oil and an oil cooler and a racing radiator so heat saving on the tops not so important. Plus I will use water injection

My God Helmut. You're not actually going to bolt all that hardware together and cover it up with an engine block, are you? Rrrr.

Re: JE Pistons replica S60R piston picture and rod/piston layout (ZekeUSMC)

Forgive my ignorance here, new to the R's. In that final pic it looks like the bearing caps are that bottom flat piece. That is very different to other layouts, is this not similar to the layout used on the Honda S2000 engine? Is this the same layout as the standard setup? Would explain why my service manager says these engines are so strong then.

Awesome!! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

You're right. There's something about just looking at those pictures of high precision engineering works of art. And, it's a shame no one is going to see it anymore once it's inside doing its job.

Should be finished as far as bottom end and all that really soon. It is going much faster than I imagined.

Yes that piece holds the bearing caps which carry the crankshaft

Yes, as Tom said it is sad they get covered and not seen, so I guess that is why it is important to take pictures http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I can see you lusting after them
They really are nice rods. They are
chrome moly not the titanium. Yes they are direct from Mr. Pauter himself

The titanium are more than a thousand a piece
As for oil channels
no
