Well to one of my good friends surprise and disappointment, I beat his 95 Trans AM. We ran three time the first two were pretty much the same he got me out of the hole but only slighty, then after the shifting to second I reeled him in and we were dead even till we let off. On the third time though I auctually got a very good launch and pulled about a half car on him, shifted to second and my lead turned to about a full car lenght and then some. By third gear I was still ahead and he could not catch me. It was great My volvo continues to impress me all the time. There were some changes to my car that I think made the difference. I have some nice new kumoh supras 712 on the front, I wraped my output tube from the turbo to the intercoller with some heat resistant wrap, and I'm running about 70% de-natured alcohol in my water injection set up in addition to all the other things I have done to my car. All in all these changes really made the difference.
My friend is now looking at headers for his car and underdrive pullys. I think It bothers him he get pulled by a volvo, it's too funny. Oh well to bad for him, next victim please.

I have another friend with a 91Z28 camaro with a 305 and 5spd slightly modded. Well we had a race planned and now it's off. My friends trans am is quicker than him and so that means that I am quicker than him too. He saw the writing on the wall and baised on his rides with me and other wins, just admitted that the volvo is faster than his camaro. At least he not in denial. Pretty soon maybe I'll have all my frinds buying volvo's......

Yeah, it is funny how underestimated these cars really are. On my way back from Philly last weekend I had a run with a new corvette. We both pulled out of the rest area on I-95 at the same time. I slowly accelerated to 50 and began to approach the merge lane. He decided that I was not going the speed he wanted and tried to pass (in the merge lane!) Not thinking twice, I jumped on it! Dropped 2 gears and lit up the right front tire! I stayed right along side of the vette! Oh was he pissed! We stayed in it well into and past 110. As we were fianlly on 95, we both stayed in it for a while. He did pull away some after 115 or so, but not more than a car-legnth. We "stretched our legs" for a while running at 125ish and then backed down after a few miles. Talking about having some fun! Nothing beats using a 4-door Volvo and keeping up with some American muscle! It was too bad that we did not have the chance to do more, oh well. Nothing like I-95 at 1 AM on a Sunday.
