This has been an ongoing discussion for a very long time.
A lot of people say these figures are overrated.
A lot of people claim that the figurres given by the tuning companies are false.
A T5 engine can't do more as 285 HP chip alone a lot of people say.
I dyno'd my car several times and never measured higher as 299 HP.
I used 14 different chip versions so far, drop in or open air filters, Downpipe 3" with sports cat and a stainless steel free flow exhaust.
Recently the turbo was changed to the one used on the last 2.4 Ltr R model (19T)
It reached around 260 HP at the wheels but I do not have a real graph of it.
I am still looking for the company with the right dyno equipment which would be equipment capable of measuring a turbo engine in the proper way with sufficient cooling and an operator who knows how to measure a turbo engine.
This may sound silly but during the last dyno run I was 110% certain that temperatures were to high and the pressure drop at high RPM was gigantic.
I have seen a dyno sheet of T5 engine reaching 310 HP so it is possible.
All the cars I have seen being measured in real never reached 300 HP in all kinds of "semi" tuning stages.
One car I didn't see being dyno'd myself but which I know reached 308 HP with modified air intake, 3" downpipe without cat, 18T turbo and sports exhaust.

Only one question remains.
How is it possible that I can push a Porsche Carrera 2 new model only running 3/4 throttle from 90 MPH up to 155 MPH, closing an at least 10 car length gap with that car running full throttle starting at 125 MPH and me braking(!!) at his tail at 150+ MPH with only 277HP and 450Nm (330 lb-ft) of torque according the last dyno??????

You tell me because I lost the count a while ago..........
