I bought a new 2006 S40 T5 and I noticed that the rear-right passenger door wasn't evenly aligned with the front-right passenger door. The driver side doors are perfectly aligned.
I asked my dealership about this. The service technician tried to push the rubber molding down to see if it was coming undone, but it wasn't. Then he said that this is normal because the machines that assemble the cars aren't that precise.
I wanted to see what you guys think. I'm not too worried if that is within spec, I just hope the door wasn't worked on because of some accidental damage I don't know about.
I've attached two pictures of the door panels in question. Am i just being too picky?

Re: Is this normal for a new S40? (skwirl)

Hard to say without seeing the rear edge of the passenger door. Especially up at the top rear corner. Any pinching or gapping there?
Tom.

Looks like the rear part of front door is little to low.
Normaly shall always the froont door be higher (or evenly aligned) to the rear door. A misstake made at the factory.
Its easy to adjust this with shims on the front doors lower hinge.
Looks also like you need to press the windowmolding/rubber to the bottom.
M

Problem with it now is that if You allign the edge of the sheetmetal the pinstrips won't line up. I think I'd make sure the rubber moulding is securely in place and let it go.
