a family member moved and left a 2001 V70 NA with me to sell
its got a weird idle issue, not sure if its related to the ETM or not
(I need to research PCV's too... but don't know what symptoms they cause other than oil leaks)

so in drive, the car idles fine
in park it hunts between 500rpm and 1100rpm

I took the ETM off and found it pretty clean, but cleaned it some more and reinstalled
no significant difference

the car never goes into a "limp home" reduced power mode, always drive fine

does anyone have any pointers where I should be checking and what else could cause this
I'm not ruling the ETM out, but it doesn't go into limp home mode, and doesn't idle poorly when in the drive position
and to be honest, I assumed the ETM idle was poor no matter if the car was in gear or not (I could be wrong, just don't know anybetter)

thanks a ton in advance
its a nice car and I'm pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy it
brant

See if it has any stored codes
Could be a failing MAF sensor (and DO NOT clean that)/
It could have a miniscule vacuum leak.

Denso (non turbos, different systems altogether) Volvos seem to do this

At Christmas when the car got here it had a cel. Cleaned the Maf then with appropriate Maf cleaner. No codes came back in 1000 miles snce Christmas

I rescanned it even though there is not a cell and no stored codes either

Can you explain the de so comment? Is that he brand of components?? Sorry for my lack f experience and familiarity

Oops. I forgot to add.
I sprayed carb cleaner while the motor was running over the Maf. Intake boot. Etm.

No idle change or noticed pin hole leak
