So, I talked to a service advisor at my local dealer and he doesn't know what i'm talking about when I told him I wanted afterblow enabled on my car. Is there a code or something I can give him?
Also which vents does it blow out of when it engages? Defroster? Vents? Last position the hvac was in?
Thanks.

Hmm, maybe that's why my napkin on the defroster vents didn't move. I always have it on dash vents with the a/c running.
So if the car is shut off with the a/c on afterblow will go after 50 mins if it is activated.
What if the a/c button is shut off just prior to turning the car off? No afterblow that way?

Have dealer check his TNN's for this issue.
As an aside, I am not sure what is to be gained by shutting off the A/C. Modern rotary compressors use less energy that what is used by driving with your window down, and the increased drag caused by the open window.

The last report I saw on it was that drag caused by an open window exceeds parasitic drag caused by the compressor above 60 KPH.
Basically, window down in town, window up on the highway.

+1 apologies for the hijack firehawk, but it seems like you found another dealer that can enable your afterblow right?
one last comment

Quote, originally posted by JimLill »

Tech Note #13
The discussion often comes back to IAT, the intake air temperature at the manifold.
I ran some simulations on an R-based model.....
each 1 deg Celsius increase in IAT results in peak HP being 1 HP less just based upon combustion factors alone.
If were able to keep the Intercooler at its peak efficiency, each 5 degC rise in ambient results in a 3 degC rise in IAT.
When the ECM senses high IAT it may take other protective measures that would further reduce HP.

from http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...age=3

EDIT
to the OP: look here http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=105524
there are some afterblow P/N's there, but I think they change year by year (or the info maybe outdated)
Like JRL said, another dealer is the best code
