You will have to make two trips before mounting them, one with the wheels and one with just the tires. The return trip after mounting can be done in one.

PS you do have to have the seat back down.

 

I did this back in March. All four rims and tires will fit in the trunk with the back seats folded down. However, my 17" with snows did not fit in my trunk afterwards.

Buy the wheels from Red at Brentwood. Great deal going on now as noted in a previous thread. I am hoping that someone can negotiate a group buy of snow tires or perhaps Tire Rack will step up on a Swedespeed deal. After all, those of us who bought this year are gonna need them.

 

I've had 4 17X7.5 w/ 225/45's mounted in my s60 before. They are SNUG but they'll do it.

Last year I got in on a group buy for Vredstein winter tires and it was through Bill Pfeiffer at 800-628-4737 Tires Unlimited. djeuch set the whole things up and it was a great deal. Call Bill and see if he can do something for you new R owners this year. You may want to start a thread with some tire chooses and get an idea of how many people will be buying in your group deal.

I would recommend that you use your backseats (cover them with a towel) because I would not want the wheels to scratch each other. You could also put a cloth between the wheels if you stack them 2x2 in the trunk

 

I've managed to fit 8 (yes, eight) tires in the car at once... 4 snows mounted on 17" Pegasus wheels and 4 VictoRacer tires.

Two were on the front seat.
