The control ring issue was a flaw mostly due to the 10k interval, right? At that low mileage they shouldn’t be that gummed up, and you could maybe run some flushes and short interval changes and keep a 5-7k interval thereafter and never have the oil consumption, right? Especially over that few miles, the oil was (hopefully) changed on a time based interval so sludge never even started to accumulate.
