There are three things that I noticed about my car, for which the dealer told me that it is normal for this model to work like that:
a. The front passenger window does not go up with one press. It goes down but if you want to put it up again, you have to keep pressing the button. The driver's window works fine in both directions. The dealer said that the same happens in the XC90's and it is normal. Is it?
b. The sunroof does not go all the way back in the auto mode. It goes about 80-85% of the way back with the first press of the button and it takes another press of the button to go the rest of the way. It works fine when you close it; one press and it's done. Again, they said it's normal. Is it?
c. The Active Chassis Settings are supposed to be "sticky"; i.e. you choose a setting, turn off the engine and when you start it again, you are on the same setting you were before, C, Sp or Adv. In my car, C and Sp are indeed sticky, but if I choose Adv, turn off the engine and turn it back on it reverts to Sp. Same answer again... normal. Is it?
For all three there is no mention of this weirdness in the manual whatsoever.

Re: Is it normal (*3)? (acg69)

a) Both of my front windows go down and up with one touch.
b) That is normal for the sunroof. You get buffetting at certain speeds when it is opened all the way.
c) Mine does the same for the chasis settings for advanced.

Re: Is it normal (*3)? (acg69)

#1) Not sure, but my '01 S60 2.4t does go up with 1 push of the button.
#2) Completely normal. Less wind buffeting this way. My S60 does the same and there was a couple of posts recently that covered this. Appears to be normal for current Volvos.
#3) I am not sure, but sounds right.

Good Luck and happy driving.

Re: Is it normal (*3)? (acg69)

I am not sure about MY04, but for MY05 or higher, both front windows should be one push down or up. So, a) is not normal. The rear windows are neither on touch up or down.
The sunroof feature is normal.
The 4C setting option is normal as well. I do believe there is mention of both the sunroof and the 4C behavior in the manual as well. The sunroof is designed to go back so far as to reduce buffeting. The 4C option is designed such that if you are in advanced, it will reset back to sport after restarting the car.

About the sunroof: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=58639
Just for kicks, on a cold morning start your car, hit advanced and enjoy the bucking bronco. You'll appreciate the lack of "stickyness" to advanced.

Well now that the main questions that you asked have been answered, I can one-up you. The first dealer I spoke to didn't know the difference between the comfort, sport and advanced settings. He just mentioned that they were some sort of sport feature, but not sure if they have any real influence on the car.

*brace yourself for the "point out the obvious" statement to follow*
Ever read your owner's manual?
Whenever you buy ANY car, you should ALWAYS read your owner's manual. It doesn't matter how good of a salesman you have, you're not going to be shown EVERYTHING about the car (if I were to show you EVERYTHING, that would be about a 9 hour delivery process).
Seriously, give it a read. There's a lot of interesting information in there

The manual explicitly states that settings are sticky; yet this is not the case for Advanced. Also, I can't recall reading anything about the roof only going back 85% of the way with one push. Could it be a bad translation to Greek?

Re: Is it normal (HJZ)

The auto up feature has a sensor that will reverse the window to down if it encounters resistance (like a hand or head out the window ). This setting is pretty sensitive to prevent any possibility of injury - especially to little kids etc.
I have found that if the window is a bit dirty or has some accumulated tree sap on the outside, it is enough to trip it. Try cleaning the windows and then use some Quick Detailer on the glass - makes the window very slippery (and makes cleaning it easier). That always solved the problem for me.
If it is a continuing problem, I think that the dealer can adjust the sensitivity (had that problem on our XC a few years back and the dealer fixed it).

Re: (acg69)

I just checked my manual again. It definitely states that the front windows are both auto up/down. It states the auto open of sunroof goes to "comfort" postition and has a footnote describing what comfort position means. It also states specifically that if left in advanced, the car will restart in sport mode. In case you were wondering.

Re: (MWH)

Since we are on this subject has anyone noticed if their tail lights (S60Rs only) have the middle brake light (not the 3rd brake light) on all the time even if they are in DRL mode?
I noticed my center brake lights (the ones between the outer brake light that goes on when you hit the brakes and rear fog light) stay on when the lights are in the 0 position.
I've followed other S60Rs and did not notice the brake lights on when their DRLs were on. Is this maybe an 05-06 thing?
I know this because I was following my sister who was driving my car so I can see how my creation looks like from other driver's POVs.

The 4 C is setup to default back to Sport Mode once the engine's turned off, if left in Adv. Mode prior to shutdown. It will also default to Sport should there be any problem w/ the system.

Well... this is definitely NOT what the Greek manual says. It specifically mentions that Adv is sticky as well. So, it is a case of bad translation...
