Is there a way to get the stock c70 stereo (1998) to play an iPod without having to add the cassette tape or the radio freqency thing. It would be nice to be able to plug an mp3 player into an AUX input ???

SC-816, 900, 901? It would say it on the faceplate in tiny white font. I have a Blitzsafe connected to a 1998 S70 (same platform) SC-816 radio through the CD Changer port. All 1998's should have this unless you have an aftermarket system. Blitzsafe is nice because it uses line-level audio to give you the best sound quality, but you cannot use the radio controls to control the iPod, unlike the one in the first link.
SC 816 Radios cost about $160 depending on where you look. The SC-901 was the best offered (with accompanying Dolby Pro-Logic processor and required amp) and runs up to $1000 from a dealer.

Blitzsafe has so many products, I<m just confused.
Too bad you cant use the headunit buttons on it though. I kinda liked that feature on the USAspecs. Cannot find anymore.

I've got a Dension one. It plugs into the CD changer spot, and its controlled through the HU buttons. I've got it connected right under my ashtray. If I was smart Id have installed it into my glove locker so I can keep my ShaunPod locked up when the top is down.

yes, its the one shown. I took the easy way out and simply ran a cable out under the area below the ashtray but there are a lot of ways I suspect you could do a really cool install on i t.

I went on the Dension website and there is no product compatible with the Sc-901 HU.
What product did you chose?

I am under the impression that they used the Dension adapter on the newer C70, and not the SC-90X radio found in the 1st Gen C70.

Re: (LucasC70)

I have the "Blitzsafe VOL/AUX DMX V.1 Auxiliary Input adapter for select 1991-00 Volvo unit" installed in my 1999 C70 with the SC-901 and its works great using the CD6 selection button and I have a mini-stereo jack connection just to the side of the ash tray. This allows easy access to the i-pod and a place for it to rest. See the attached link as this is where I purchased my unit.
http://www.discountcarstereo.c...D=665

Modified by CDR114 at 6:37 PM 5-28-2009

Hey Luc,
The one I have does not seem to be available any more. I have the ice link V2. I want to sway out my HU. If I ever get that done, you can have my current one.

I'm considering ordering one or the other adapter in the coming weeks.

I have a USA-spec adapter and just wondering how I am supposed to hook up the yellow and red wires? just strip the coating off these wires and wrap the red and yellow around them? seems like it would work but also sounds jank.
http://www.discountcarstereo.c...v.jpg
