Sound is a critical design concern with any exhaust system. EuroSport Tuning exhausts offer a pleasant, deep sound under hard acceleration and a nice mellow, almost unnoticeable tone at cruising speeds.
Full Story

Re: Introducing the New EST XC90 Sport Exhaust System (safetyfirst)

I wonder if any of these dual exhausts will fit with a hidden hitch installed. And how does one modify the bumper on the right side? Just cut it?

Wouldn't installation of this exhaust system void one's warranty?

The exhaust kit also comes with a pump & seal kit which plug into the cigarette lighter and allows you to pump up the tire if you get a flat.

If you could send me some pictures of the hitch installed I should be able to tell you if it will fit. For the second opening you need to cut a hole in the bumper.

The warranty on your XC90 will not be voided if you install our exhaust kit. Warranty is only void on parts that have been replaced with aftermarket parts so the exhaust system will not be covered under Volvo warranty program. But not to worry, our dual exhaust kit comes with a 5 year warranty and would out last the factory exhaust.

Is there any data about horsepower increase with this system?
The Heico system claims to add 9hp (which I believe since I have driven a V8 with that system both before and after installation).
I'm very interested in adding an upgraded exhaust for looks, sound and performance. So far this one is the best priced and the one from VST is about twice as much and the Heico is in the middle.

Re: (jib)

I like it. Reminds me of the HEICO setup. I ended up going with the Remus setup for my 2.5 because I didn't want to junk the spare tire feature, and I love it. To my surprise, my wife also loves it, because the sound is hardly noticed from the cab, but from outside you do hear the sweet sounds of a 20-valve 5 cylinder.
The exhaust is an area where you can see some benefits, mostly heat evacuation. Cars that are chipped for more boost will most certainly benefit from better exhausting of heat from the motor. Stainless steel retains heat and allows for good gas flow too, but not sure any of us would really notice that. The look and the sound is what the XC needs, and this system looks good. I'd be interested in seeing the single pipe outlet system too. I like the ability to change my own tire, since I don't like the prospect of being reliant on someone else to get me home.
Here's my Remus setup. I think it's a nice improvement over the stock system. No more power claims, just good looks and sounds. Your big pipe system should offer some measure of additional power, especially good if the car is also chipped for more boost (and the resulting more heat)

Mr. P

Re: (Mr. P)

I remember when you installed the Remus. I'm glad, for your sake, that the wife liked it. <grin> You are a brave man. I won't surprise my wife when it comes to her daily driver.
Any pressure reduction in a Turbo exhaust is a good thing, I just need to be careful, as our XC90 is my wife's Real Estate business vehicle and her targeted class of client is not the loud exhaust crowd. Once we start finding out how long the OEM exhaust systems last, I'll start finding vehicles to listen to. I've welded exhaust systems back together to get another year out of them, so I'll have the luxury of time to do my research when it's exhaust time.
I doubt I'll ever chip the XC90, we have the Triumphs (see sig file below) for play time, but I will upgrade any component when it's time to replace it.
I won't sacrifice my spare tire. I've been in too many situations where a blown tire had to be replaced and could not be repaired with a plug.
Thanks,
Jack
OK, if you want a single set of dual tips, what is everyone' s recommendation? (Besides OEM, obviously.) I've chipped my car but want to stick with the OEM-look, the single set of dual tips.
Thanks.
