Ever since taking delivery a year ago, every now and then the brakes make a squeaking noise when applying light pressure at a low speed. For example if I'm going 40mph, and see a red traffic light from afar, I'll start braking lightly and applying the same pressure throughout. Once it gets down to 5mph there will be squeaking for a second or two before a complete stop.

This also doesn't happen every time. I would say maybe 1 in 10 times? It is very hard to pinpoint exactly what the conditions are to make it happen. I would like to think the weather/humidity plays some part but I cannot find any real pattern.

Before taking it into the dealer which is not close, and I'm also unsure if it can be reproduced on the spot, I'd like to see if there's anyone else who has experienced this? I don't feel like any braking performance is hampered and it happens sporadically enough that I haven't looked deeply into this until now. The only thing that hurts really is my ego when I pull up somewhere in my nice looking SUV and this happens :D

Take your compressor and blow out all the brake dust.
Blow out as needed.

Going to the dealer will be a waste of time. At BEST they will remove, clean, and lube your pads only to just squeak later on again.

I have this same issue. I did take it to the dealer. Of course they couldn’t replicate it but they pulled the wheel off and blew it out, lubed it up etc. Problem is still there. If you find a fix please share!

Sucks that you have the same thing but glad that I'm not the only one. Don't get me wrong I love a lot of things about this vehicle but it does leave a bad taste. I've never bought brand new from any brand except for Volvo, wonder if this sort of thing is actually common among all brands?

I’d suggest you be more aggressive with your braking technique. Your brake pads are likely glazed from the light braking.
