Hi everyone,
I am wondering what the interior lighting is like for folks without the Inscription or the Advanced Package with the Interior High Level Illumination. Are there mood lighting on the doors and on the dash too or nah? At there approach lights on the outside, like on the door handles? I can’t seem to find info/photos anywhere. Or, if there is another thread, kindly point me the right direction . Trying to figure out if I can live without the extra lighting, HUD, and 360 Cam. Thank you!

We have a MY2019 with HUD and 360 camera. The HUD is helpful but not critical. The 360 camera I definitely consider critical to avoid damage the vehicle in tight parking or close quarter maneuvers or avoiding small objects.

Hopefully you can find a dealer with an XC90 equipped with the features you're looking for to at least check them out before you buy.

Hi, I just got 2021 XC 90T5 with no advanced package, there are lights in door handles, in foot wheel. There's no illuminated door sill. I also have 2018 V90 inscription and I have only noticed door and dash mood light when I was very far from the city, when there is any light pollution it's hard to see.

The 360 camera was a dealbreaker for us. Both for garage and for outside the home parking. If you are able to wait and find one with the right package, I don't think you will regret it. That is easier said than done when circumstances could cause you to need the vehicle quickly. Don't let dealer pressure put you in the car you don't want if you have the time to wait.

The “mood” lighting on our ‘19 inscription is a joke...not sure if ‘21 is the same. One small color-variable led by the rear view mirror and one each above the back doors. It’s so subtle I wonder why they even tried. 360 camera and HUD are nice tho...

It's the same on the 2021s. You have to turn it up to High before being able to really notice it. Then it's sort of too much because you have a partial green or purple interior spotlight that would be nice if you're coming out a a nightclub at 20 years old, otherwise sort of odd.

I am fairly certain that we don't have those lights on the Advance Package. The only lights I could identify in the AP were by the front middle mirror up above the dash, and one on each side of the 2nd row passengers above the windows. The lighting really isn't a big deal for us - I played with it for 10 minutes then haven't thought about it again even though I am really into technology. It's just not bright or prevalent enough to matter. Curious to hear what others think. The camera you won't regret - I don't see it as "necessary" but when spending this much on a car, you "should" want some of the newer technology.. and the 360 camera is very cool. As is the HUD. Couple percent more cost and you notice the neat feature daily. Sorry I know it's hard when looking at inventory. You can live without it for sure I would just weigh what you are giving up by waiting. Around me AP is fairly regular to see on new inventory.

The 360 degree display is very useful in a tight garage or parking space and while parallel parking. It's designed to be switched on when needed not as a default.

I find hud distracting on unlit roads so it is usually off. I want the front window to be as dark and consistent as possible.

The interior lighting on my 2020 T6 does what it is supposed to. Which is light various areas well when needed. When driving I want just enough light to see controls, see the roadway and operate the car. That usually means adjusting the dimmer to control interior reflections. I'll have fun setting the mood with lighting and beverages on arrival.

These lights are in the XC90 Excellence (look at the headrests) edition... This contour lighting is only on the 90 series Volvos. For the 60s, there's only footwells, door pockets, interior door handles and mood LEDs (only the 3 mood LEDs are color-customizable). I took some pics and posted in this thread.

The second row flutes and footrest were the Excellence give away for me.
