Seems with the up-and-coming Ford Focus ST, more parts are coming out. Would this be a possible performance upgrade? <p><A HREF="http://www.ep-performance.de" TARGET="_blank">http://www.ep-performance.de</A>/<p><A HREF="http://www.ep-performance.de/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=105" TARGET="_blank">http://www.ep-performance.de/c...D=105</A><p>"60mm throttle body fit for 1.8/ 2.0l Duratec HE (I4) engines (Vovo C30, S40, V50)). 19% more air flow compared to standard throttle body. Better throttle response, more mid range torque and high end power. A "must have" for all Duratec owners. This product has been tested on the E-P project Fiesta ST and has been proofed for its function and results. The PCM software will automatically adapt the new throttle body, no modifications required, a simply plug and play modification. outer diameter remains standard, so you can keep your existing intake tube."

Re: Interesting find... (Revolve40)

That is <I>very</I> interesting. I also saw some of those wheels they have online before somewhere, but I am sure shipping would make the price unreasonable.<p>It would be nice if there are more interchangeable parts available for our car, as long as they don't throw off our super finicky computer systems...

Re: Interesting find... (x-omatic)

I don't know about that part specifically but that site does have some stuff available for our car, where they specify for use with all T5 engines...

I read it the other way... Are the throttle bodies different on the T5 and 2.4i anyway?

Re: Interesting find... (Revolve40)

It doesnt specify that it works for the T5 engines so im guessing it shouldnt be. Thats not something that can be easily changed without throwing off the ECM.<p>As far as finding new parts you just have to be really creative where you look. Im currently exploring chassis braces and have found some from the mazda 3 that fit our cars. <p>For the most part custom parts are where the powers gonna be at other than the standard bolt ons that are on the market.

Re: Interesting find... (ForceFed Motorsports)

Does anyone know where I can find technical specs on the S40's throttle bodies? Now I'm curious.

Very cool. I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any idea on how to get my hands on one of those books? <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: Interesting find... (Revolve40)

Probably have to pay off a tech at a dealer to jack it from the shelf lol. Volvo sends em out to each dealer a full copy and a pocket copy. Has engine, brake, body, interior specs. Kinda cool.

Re: Interesting find... (genjy)

I already know bout those, im lookin at Alutec braces thru motorex right now. Just trying to make sure that they actually fit and if they have been tested or are just guesses.

Re: Interesting find... (x-omatic)

Just by visually looking at a few 2.4i engines the throttle even looks smaller although i cant be certain about the inner bore. Someone needs to measure theres and ill measure my T5 throttle.

Re: (SDS40)

I got that same email lol. Should have mentioned that, hes probably gonna be bombarded with S40 questions and going to wanna know where we all came from lol.<p>Comparing GT specs pictures to the Alutec ones i see very similar mouting locations although the designs are mildly different. Like compare the center brace and they look identical. I just dont think they have tried them and doesnt want to say they do fit. Im looking into the structure of the car and want to figure out what the weak points are and then focus on them. Dont want to add more weight to a heavy vehicle without definite performance advantages.<br>
