Hi, As a new member to the Volvo community, Very interested in feedback on long term reliability/durability of these 3.0 T6 engines / wagons.
Mine, is a CPO 2013 T6 with only 12,500 mi. I just picked up less than 2 months ago....the plan was for it to replace DW 2003 Pathfinder LE AWD ( will keep around as semi-retired). So far however, she does not want to drive the XC, - 'it's too fancy and new looking' for her...... So, I've been driving the XC a little myself. Surprisingly, I like driving this thing, and DW loves it as a passenger (more so than in my Jaguar XF). Hope to keep this car also for 13 ++++ years.

I currently have 158,000 on my 2009. I also purchased mine as a CPO. Biggest current problem is a possible wheel bearing / hub in front (get a rubbing noise when turning right). The rear one has already been replaced on the same side.

I LOVE the car and swear by it!

coming up on 68K miles (also have CPO), but the engine is solid as a drum. I have been chasing a niggling transmission/driveline vibration for some time, but that's been there since I bought the car with 40K miles on it. I've had front axles replaced but it could be due to the increased power from the Polestar tune. Either way, CPO FTW!!

Otherwise, the car is outstanding at 4 years old and 68K miles.

97K+ on our '11 XC70 T6... got a noisy rear diff replaced under CPO (big, but very rare problem), also a CEL for a fuel-tank emissions-related thing was fixed under warranty (small issue), otherwise needed nothing but factory maintenance and I think one set of brake pads so far. No issues with wheel bearings, suspension stuff, etc... still feels like a new car.

Have 102K on my '10 T6 with a Polestar tune. I've owned it 3+ years and put on 22K miles a year. I threw an IPD rear sway bar on it. Still tight as a drum inside. no rattles or squeaks, tan leather holding up well and not too dirty even with my 6 year old doing her best to mess it up, LOL.

Had the fan blower motor replaced a few months ago since it got squeaky. Had some parking sensors and a hood latch sensor replaced 2 years ago. That's it. Great car, very reliable, no engine, suspension or driveline issues.

Thanks, it's certainly sounds like the old Volvo reputation for reliability and durability is still mostly well deserved today. My yardstick is our old 1999 Pathfinder ( bought new, just sold 4 months ago) and 2003 Pathfinder bought used in 2006. VERY reliable trucks indeed. The ATTESA E-TS AWD system in the 2003 which is adapted from the GT-R is very impressive indeed.

Our 2012 T6 bought new November 2011 has 69,000 miles on it and has had 0 problems - love the car it is a rocket ship/tank and totally comfortable - just got back from Maine dirt roads with two kayaks and camp gear - the best vehicle ever - got 22 mpg with kayaks going 75, 24 on secondary roads - 27 on highway usually, 20 around town and 23 overall usually.

We put in premium gas on this one.

We just bought a 2016 XC70 base T5 (great car, excellent value but not as powerful as the T6) - no more T6s but had to get one more XC before they were all gone forever - the new V90 will be much more expensive.

The T5 so far gets about 21.5 overall, 29-30 on the highway, 19 in the city - we put premium in - no octane mentioned in manual (!) Dealer says regular OK but on internet Volvo recommends premium.

We plan on keeping both XC70s for many, many years to come - love these cars....

It would be interesting to see if using premium fuel gains any MPG in these Volvos. My personal experience is that using premium makes no difference except removing a few more dollars from your pocket! Modern vehicles have sensors that prevent harm to an engine using regular fuel.

We have some friends who drove my car and loved it. Told them to hurry and get a 2016 T5 before they are no more. I test drove a new 2016 T5, and it certainly did not 'lack' power, and felt very smooth if I remember. The T6 is of course a beast. Only drove it on the highway once so far, coming home from the dealer 100 mi. away where I purchase it. Did 25.5 indicated. Locally, around our very hilly areas, she shows only 15.6 - 16 (reg. gas) for the first 2 tankfulls. For comparison, my 2014 Jaguar XF AWD (8 spd, premium gas )gets 16-16.5 local, 28-31 hwy, and the 2003 Pathfinder gets 13 local, 17 hwy (reg. gas).

I don't have high mileage on my XC70 but here's my take. Bought new 2015.5 T6 AWD. After about 2k miles, had Polestar factory tune put on by dealership. Currently have 13k on it and it is one of the most comfortable cars I've ever had and the power is a beast. When I bought it, I originally wanted an XC90 but back then, couldn't find one as they were flying off the lots but glad I got the XC70 with the 3.0 T6 and will keep this one.
