My friend wants an intercooler,well better one, can my old intercooler be swaped into his car? If so is it better than the one he's got?

I assume you mean the older style S40, not the 2004.5. Totally different part. The older S40 has a flat IC in front of the radiator.

Like Tom said, it's not a even close to a direct fit, but you might be able to do it if you fabricate all new plumbing for his car...

EDIT:
On a side note, I think I saw you driving on I-5 southbound through Olympia the other day... Assuming it was you anyways, E. Sliver, T5 AWD, iPd sticker in the back window.
I passed you on the right in my Ti S60R as I was taking my Exit.
