On my 2002 S60 t5 the main instrument cluster failed and I was told it required a NEW cluster unit<br>True? can you get a unit from a wrecked car?

No you can't.<br>These do fail from time to time but they need to be <I>mated </I>to the car.<br>I believe once <I>"mated"</I> you cannot use them on another car, I may be wrong here so double check on that.<br>Call Darryl Waltrip Volvo in TN. They have the cheapest prices in the country

A salvaged unit can work, if you swap it from exactly a similar car. It's not VIN locked but the software configuration is very specific. The problem is that you may end up swapping a whole bunch of clusters before you find one that works.
