Re: installing s60 blow off valve (liquidforce1887)

Stock S60 turbos have a bypass valve instead from the factory... a blow-off valve will only make performance worse. If you want a louder turbo, go with an "open" air intake from BSR or similar...

yeah I wouldn't recommend a blowoff valve for closed loop systems. Your car will probably start running too rich. There are some hybrid (dv/bov) that might work better if you're still looking for that BOV sound. They release some of the pressure into the atmosphere but enough back into the system. I know that GFB (go fast bits) makes a hybrid and vivid racing does.
I'm not sure for volvos but i know that on my audi, a good intake can make the stock dv sound louder. Just be careful with intakes b/c most of the time they just pull in hot air from the engine which makes you lose hp. But they sound nice.

once I tried to put a Greddy BOV right in the middle of the pressure pipe( the one run over top of the engine) the result was: 1. it wasn't louder at all compare to just install an aftermarket intake. 2. very important. the engine shuts down every time after I rev it. I found out I did it wrong after all. I've heard if you really want an aftermarket BOV, you need to replace the stock bypass. I've found that volvomotorsport have two BOVs for S60. If anyone know about their BOVs?

Anyone know about this? I am curious, but its almost $300, dunno if I want to experiment with this just yet.

Re: (deep60)

Instead of installing the BOV, my buddy and i got back to the bypass valve and turned it until it was almost closed. Turbo response and spool time increased dramaticly. Im gonna burn another transmission from flooring the pedal so much

hey, i dont have a boost guage, but i havent noticed anything weird about the turbo or the boost. Theres relatively no lag, and with my air intake, the valve is loud as hell

If you want a aftermarket bov installed you need to replace the stock one with a block off plate. A blow off valve with a tune van be just as good as a diverter valve but if not tuned the bov might make the car run lean.

You have to recirculate the air after blow off valve release it back to intake pipe with a properly tune MAF will work fine

Where do I find the bypass to adjust it. I’m not the best mechanic if I can’t tell😂
