Wife is hard on brakes. Does anyone know what needs to be swapped to put the 305mm front rotors on, instead of the 286mm ones? Pads apear to be the same for either size, so I'm assuming(I know...)just the adapter?? Will the 305s fit with 16in wheels? Thanks guys

I know what forum it is, I can read. Regular forum doesn't get much traffic, nor does anyone seem to mod anything there. Thanks for the help.

Re: (BellevilleV70)

You're probably better off putting a beefier pad on there, and some better fluid, to handle the extra heat. The rotor itself is likely just fine. Take the backing plate/dust cover thing off to help dissipate heat as well.

Ive tried all kinds of pads, still not happy with it. Don't really want to pull the back plate due to all snow/salt up here, they rust fast enough now. Was going to try the centric EP coated rotors this time with akebono euro pads and see how they work.
That said I ordered rebuilt calipers with adapters for the bigger rotors, so i'll see if they bolt on and fit the wheels I guess. Can always return them if they don't.

Wheels are too small, and thats not in the budget. Gonna be time for a new one in the next year or so.

How about next time you start off with, "We don't have an R, but I was wondering about using blah blah blah blah on a standard v70..."? Maybe curtail a "wrong forum" comment.
And you seem to already have a plan in place, why ask for advice?
Lastly, the advice to tell your wife to knock it off is the best so far. Or just have the next few brake jobs come out of her pocket...
good luck whatever your course may be...cheers
