Installation was easy, just like everyone else says. I have never done ANY work on a car before and this was a really easy first mod to complete, gave me a little (probably false) confidence with a wrench in my hand .
Its been pouring rain all day so I havent really had a chance to put the car through its full paces, but the short little drive I took around my neighborhood felt solid. Just like everyone else says the car seems more willing to turn in and understeer feels less obvious. Overall, the car just feels more solid. I cant wait to take the caR on a good, long drive to really get used to the new feeling.
I definitely think that this mod was worth the money. This was the first mod and I have a feeling it will not be the last...

Finally, anyone know if there is any risk of this bar damaging anything prematurely (strut/shock towers, shocks, 4c, etc.)? Thanks

The bar feels good doesn't it. Did you notice the steering wheel tighten up a bit too? Pics of the installed brace?
You may get some rubbing between the two bars. If you do, the QBM strut bar conversion kit will fix it in a hurry.

The newer ultra racing brace has better clearance then the first gen model... Plus a poly bushing kit like the one from IPD will cure the rubbing problem if there is one without going overboard.

When I installed the bar I put a piece of foam/rubber between the two bars. I have the QMB mounts and the Front UR bar and they where touching. With the foam, no problem.

The steering is much tighter, that in its self really makes the bar worth the money. I have not had any rubbing between the two bars, but I havent really driven it that much.

Re: Installed the Viva/Ultra Racing strut brace... (craina)

By installing the QBM kit, you have already created a strut bar of sorts. Does the addition of this Viva/Ultra brace improve the driving dynamics that much more? I'm sure it's better since it goes right to the strut towers... I'm just curious how much better. This might go on the birthday list.
~ Trygve
If I only had the strut bar I'd let you see first hand what it feels like at the May 2nd GTG. Sorry.

I don't know how often you are running away from cops or men with guns around town (who am I to judge ) but unless you take turns doing high speed with tires screeching, you probably won't notice it as much in town.

I do not have the QBM mod, but the strut has made a pretty big difference, i can definitely go into turns that I used to take at 25mph at 30mph.

Re: Installed the Viva/Ultra Racing strut brace... (craina)

I first fitted QBM engine brace end bits, noticed small improvement to steering feel, then added Viva/Ultra Racing tower brace after and it makes a difference.
Front end "feels" tighter and steering response improves.
I did pick up a vibration, but swapping a blown/worn/sloppy poly bushing for a stock rubber one took vibration away.
Worth it in my book.
