I agree the 2002 A4 is a pretty nice car but listen to this. I currently lease an A4 that has about 3 months left (It's a 1999 A4 1.8T, leather, Quattro, etc) which I've loved since day 1. I just ordered a 2002 Silver T5 S60, 5 speed, 17" tethys, leather sport seats, sunroof, yada yada yada. I was also considering the new A4 so I went to my Audi dealer to price one up which was comparable to the T5 I ordered (2002 A4, 3.0, 5 speed, leather, winter package, bose system, basically everything but navigation and sport suspension). The sticker on both cars (T5 and A4) came out to about $37,500. Can you believe that for a 39 month lease, with 12k miles per year, my Audi dealer wanted $569/month!!! I asked them if they had been smoking crack that morning. I am getting the loaded up 2002 T5 for a 36 month lease (not 39) with 12k miles a year for $469/month. One hundred dollars less a month for a car that in my opinion is more comfortable, drives just as smooth if not smoother and is much faster than the 3.0 A4 (220 HP I believe for the 3.0). The only thing the A4 had over the T5 is Quattro which doesn't even come close to warrant another $100 a month.
I take delivery of my T5 toward the end of this year, can't wait! I loved the automatic that I test drove (the dealer didn't have any 5 speeds).
