so my car started making this high pitched oselating squealing noise, about 2 days ago... I read through the topics here, and was able to diagnose the problem Thanks to the wondering information here at swedespeed. (When I pull out the dip stick, the pressure releases, and the noise goes away)... My only question is... Is it safe to drive the car to the stealership, or should I have it towed?
- Thanks, especially for the great info on this issue.

Re: Infamous PCV problem.... (gmugolf)

i had mine replaced a few weeks ago and I asked about how much I should drive the car before I worry...of course they said not to drive it often, but it's not a big deal if you do drive it a little bit, gotta get to work and everything. but they told me the only thing they said would happen is the car would drive funny. and it did, the idle raised to about 1000 rpm and felt a little sluggish. but they also said to pull the dipstick out a little bit to relieve the pressure, and it doesn't make that god awful squealing noise. but don't pull it out too far. and i dont know how likely it is to happen, but it's a fire concern, so get it fixed asap
edit: they also said make sure oil doesn't splash around, i dont think it's gonna make it all the way up the dipstick tube, but i'd check it every once in a while

It could be driven to the dealership no worries. Dont pay to have it towed... just get it to the dealership as soon as you can.
From the sounds of it the dealership you talked to are morons as well haha. Its not pressure its vacuum. The sound you are hearing is air being sucked thru the weakest source it can find. Thus why its so difficult to pull the dipstick or the oil cap
