September 7th? Sure, I'll check it out. Are you showing your car?
I was out at Summit Point today for MARRS #8-9(?). There was some good racing, and one big wreck that I didn't see. One of the ITB 142's got smashed hard and only the front end was free of damage. Several other cars were hit hard too. I enjoyed it, and hopefully got some good pics (I caught 2 spins), but I didn't get my car out on the track. It was making some noise on the drive over, and I think the rack or steering joints are loose/worn.

Hope it wasn't Jim Stem who wrecked. He's a friend of mine who races an ITB 142 with SCCA.

Yes, I'm showing my car. It's bound to be a giant r1ce-fest but someone has to show the euro-flag. I haven't done any shows at all this year so I figured this might be my last shot.

The dark green with red was the one involved in the accident. The yellow one (#65) was not damaged. The ITB 242 looked like it got touched enough to pull the rear bumper cover loose on one side, but it wasn't damaged either.

Judging by past results, it looks like the fastest 142 is usually Charles Broring in a '72 142E. If this was the case yesterday, than this might have been the car that was involved in the big wreck. It was definitely the highest running Volvo by quite a few spots at the start, and the cars taken out were near the top.
That's just a guess. I don't know who it actually was, but the car looked really nice before the race.

Yes it's expensive. So shoot me. I suppose you're paying for all the DJ and Bikini show-girls that I could give a crap about, but I like to do at least one show a year just to see what's out there and this is the only one left. It is highly entertaining looking at all the young people and what passes for cool in car design. Usually there are two or three guys with serious speed cars (without 400 lb stereos) that are nice to look at.
It's at the DC Armory, which is next to FedEx stadium. Show is Sat from 12:00pm to 9:00 pm for lookers.
