We just returned from our OSD trip and among other places, we visited Stockholm. We drove to Stockholm after taking the delivery of our XC90 from the FDC in Gothenburg. We planned to buy the Stockholm card for its many benefits (admissions to museums, bus & metro transportation, etc.) but one of its key benefits was free parking at many city parking lots. The included parking more than pays for the price of the Stockholm.

To our surprise, we found out that starting this year (2006), free parking in city parking lots is no longer included with the Stockholm card. This made the card less attractive to us (we still bought it and barely broke even considering the number of museums we visited in those 24 hours). Although its offerings are still pretty nice, I thought I would share this for the benefit of folks who wish to park their cars in Stockholm and are counting on the Stockholm card to pay for the otherwise outrageously expensive parking.

Cheers!

You find US$ 2.50 / 30 minutes expensive?

Yeah, the $8/day in San Francisco has spoilt me.

Re: Important information about the Stockholm card (AccuView)

Good info. Too bad there's no longer free parking. We utilized the Stockholm card to the max by using it for public transportation and museums. We found that it was easier to leave the car parked and take the subways and busses everywhere within the city. We also had a restaurant discount or two on the card.

I miss Stockholm- want to go back!
