Hi All,

A freindly reminder...Koni called me to let me know what Snoogans found out the hard way. When you go to cut your stock strut, the 40mm measurement is WITH the cap over the strut. The man at Koni is working to resolve this issue. If the cap is removed when measuring you will cut thru the weld for the spring seat, and then your car will fall to the ground!!!!! It is however a great ride when this mod is done. FYI, Monkey

Here is a copy of the follow up e-mail ,

Attached is the jpg of the Volvo instruction sheet. As you can see, the cap is shown in Boxes 1, 4 & 5 to show Before, During and After the cut. Removing the cap prior to measurement will place the cut falsely low and on the spring seat weld. I will request that the Dutch product management find a way to emphasize the presence of the caps during the measuring stage. Although the instructions are correct, they could certainly be made more clear or at least have more emphasis.

I appreciate the opportunity to discuss it with you and would certainly appreciate it if you could find a way to post a "heads up" or further clarification on any Volvo discussion lists. Please feel free to post our tech line number at 1-859-586-4100 if anyone has any questions.

Best regards,
