So, yesterday, my car (06 V50 T5 M66) was towed to the stealer, because the immobilizer was triggered. (AAA unfortunately didn't have a battery test kit) Today I found out that the battery has a dead cell, and that likely caused the problems. I bought a new battery (Not the $170 Volvo OEM, LOL) and brought it to the dealer.

He said he'd have to reprogram my car's computer tomorrow after the battery was installed. Is this true or is he just BSing me for money? I suspect the latter, as I wouldn't think that replacing a battery would require a reprogramming of the computer, but the immobilizer is in fact computer controlled, so maybe in this case it does.

Also, allegedly the group 48 battery "doesn't fit" as in, it allegedly won't strap down (But fits in every other dimension) but that's beside the point. So, what are your opinions on this, fellow swedespeeders? Do I just go to the dealership tonight with my spare key and try to start my car? Or do I (lol) trust the dealer?
