I'm going to be getting a custom exhaust built for the R and I would really like to see some pics of other people's exhaust's (especially quad exhaust pics.)

Any advice, recommendations, pics, do's and don'ts would be much appreciated.

Sweet, I thinking about doing a 3" stainless steel with resonator and HKS Carbon Ti muffler. Curious to see what others have done. What are you thinking of doing?

I have seen Rs with that style of muffler. It does not look amazing...doesn't look terrible.

Yeah, I know it is. How many SDM exhausts have you seen? Haven't seen anyone else with a custom or after market exhaust I have liked yet. You know VST is a Japan company so I don't see why that would be a big deal. I'm not sure if I'll go with the carbon or just the regular. The carbon might be too much for the car.

Magnaflow tips and a magnaflow resonator, no mufflers.

Although I backed up though an icy pile of snow this winter and pushed one side of my exhaust tips back so I need to get some things fixed.

i think it is much better to have a custom job only if u REALLY TRUST the people working on the car. when i had my res removed i was able to talk to the guy doing the job before he started to work. i also stood next to him the whole time to make sure everything was perfect. i even got to drive it up the lift.

...and it belongs on a JDM tuner. I would be embarrassed to put that on my V70XC, much less my R.

Geez it's a freakin muffler that you can barely see. You guys don't have to get all butt hurt about it. I've seen much worse stuff on some of the R's in this forum anyway.

Here are quick and dirty photos. Sorry my car and the tips are dirty due to the rain. I am really happy with the fabrication of the cut out. The shop rolled the body kit to match the other side. I am also impressed with the quality of the exhaust work.

2.5 inch pipes to dual magnaflow mufflers. (not pictured)

With the dual magnaflow mufflers (not pictured) it is the perfect setup. The sound is perfect (great burble, not annoying) cabin resonance is way down from the straight pipes pictured.

I will take updated pics with them clean when I am back in The States.

i have to say i like the stock exhaust (looks wise) so i'll probably end up going with TME. someone put together a group buy

...and normally don't like this look on the R, as too many other cars have it these days

If installed right, the only thing you would see is the tip. It really isn't that big of a deal.
