OK, so I've had a couple minor problems with the car recently. For the last 2 months the clutch pedal has been squeaking like crazy. I thought about tackling the problem myself, but this is why I bought extra warranty, right?
Well the fact that my dealer is pretty far from me, and I have to take time off work to go there, and then he had to order a part that took a while to come in because of the whole supplier bs recently, I finally got the part in (it actually came in while I was on holidays, but I didn't know, because instead of calling me, they sent me a letter and my mail was on hold so I could have went and got it replaced but I didn't know it was there ). Anyways, I finally got it fixed on Thursday. Then when I went to pick it up, I was billed. Excuse me? I also wanted him to look at my sticky ebrake, which he did, and he recommends new cables, but that is also not covered.
I can see the cables not being warrantied, but not a faulty interior item like a clutch pedal. The clutch pedal was cheap, I can live with it, but the cables are going to be about $450. I'll be tackling that one myself. I don't overly mind the opportunity to get my hands dirty, but I'm starting to wonder why the hell I bothered purchasing a warranty. I would also love to be able to reference what is covered and what isn't from now on, so I don't waste my time and money to go to a shop and be told the stuff I need done will be billed to me. Anyone know where I can find this information?
/rant
I'm also going to be cracking open my drivers door to find out why I have to pull the handle twice as far to open it, and why my window stutters and shakes and makes a painful sound when I roll it down.
The more I think about it, the more ticked off I get. I purchased CPO and negotiated extra warranty for a reason....
ok, /rant for real.

No, I meant the exterior door handle. You have to pull it harder and farther than the rest of them. It's almost as if it's loose, but not loose.

For the door issues I say the dealer would be better. It is a HUGE pain if you get the door handle completely undone, and the window issue sucks as well because you have to take out the door cassette, which is a pain. Call your dealer and see beforehand if that will be covered by CPO...

I've heard of dealers not wanting to mess with the warranty paperwork so they would say it's not covered to get the customer to pay.

The clutch pedal should be covered by warranty. I got them to replace it twice with no charge because I think it was a defect and if not, it should be covered. However, I am still on the regular warranty so that might be different.

Re: (Vash13)

The squeaky clutch pedal is due to a faulty spring and retainer, there is a TNN regarding this and ive replaced one in the past. Going to do my own as well since i too have this issue. Its a fairly easy install with the volvo special tool which is a spring compressor.
I dont get how all these dealers you guys go to do not know this stuff. Im horribly underpaid if i know this much stuff regarding volvos and have only been working there for maybe 2 years
As for the door handle most times it requires a latch assembly or some of the actuator rods attached as to why you are having door handle issues. These too should be covered under you CPO warranty.
