illegal to do any. So, what's a good compromise that will be least likely to get me pulled over? I want something like 20% for everything behind the driver...40% up front? Pics appreciated from those with dark rear and lighter fronts...

This is probably a little too much for ya, but here is an old pic of my car showing the tint. Fronts are legally limited to 35%, backs can be as dark as I want so I went with 5% limo tint. When I redo it I will probably do 15% rears and 25% fronts, think it would look better. The 5% is super hard to see out of the back window when backing at night. It really does help keep the inside temp lower though.

Me too, but I hate when people can see the inside of my car, I like being able to throw stuff in the back, i.e., my laptop, without having to worry someone sees it and breaking in. Not to mention a little more privacy.

I had never heard of anyone getting pulled over for tint in my area until a guy at work said he got pulled over and the cop put this thing on the back side of his window of his truck which reads how dark the tint as and gave him a warning

From what I have had a cop tell me (my sisters friend). Pulling some one over for violations such as no front plate, tint, exhaust are things cops will use as a reason to pull a person over if they suspect them of doing something else. Or the cop is in a bad mood and being a jerk. But that's just WA State, and is more common small towns and with the state police.

Kind of hard to tell because of the reflection but here's 30% all the way around....

I'm another one of these guys that believe it needs to be even all the way around. I, like Kallvin22, have 15% all the way around and have only been ticketed twice. Twice might sound like a lot of but I drive 120 miles a day to and from work and pass several state troopers each way. I assume I don't get hassled because I'm often doing the speed limit or less.

Maybe I'll do like 20 back 30 front for not too much of a difference. I can't afford tickets and don't want to take it off. I drive 90 miles per day and therefore am exposing myself to ticket potential quite a bit!

Re: (Veefifty T5AWD)

30 and 20 sounds good, but i like 30 evenly. I think it looks good and yet should still pass state law. Have to talk to my tint guy and ask his recommendation as to what can pass as legal and what doesnt.

The problem is that nothing is allowed in the fronts, so even 30, while fairly light, is still illegal...

depending on where you are, 90% of the time, cops dont pull you over for tints.

if you get caught doing something, they can give you a tint ticket along with what you got pulled over for...

We dont have much crime up in bellingham so when i roll tint in the front windows they dont assume im hiding something lol. We are allowed up to 20 something %. Our detail manager at the dealer here has his front windshield on his BMW tinted lol. No tickets yet.
