A month ago i took my car to the dealer to have the 15k srvc, the locking radio and a clicking clutch worked on. The srvc was completed but they never reset the light. The clutch they said needed two new springs that they were going to order and the radio they upgraded the software for the 4th time. My car was in the shop for 2 weeks and when I got it back the clutch still clicked and the radio would still freezeup. I called volvo of na and they couldnt have been better to deal with. I explained that these were problems that have been "fixed" by the dlr in the past and this didnt make them happy, the dlr obviously bills them for warranty work but they arent fixing anything because I have to keep going back for the same problems. Ive called the srvc mngr to express my extreme displeasure but never get a response. Volvo na called them and within a day they had an appt with a lnr for me. That was over a week ago. The new springs on the clutch didnt work so they had to oreder a new pedal assembly, that took three days to get in. When they went to put the new pedal on they noticed that the seal between the master cylinder and the hoses was not there , this seal cant be ordered by itself so they had to order a new master cylinder from Sweeden. They said that it must have fallen into the cylinder because they couldnt find it, the fluid level wasnt low, the area was clean of fluid and I would notice leaks on my driveway. So they dont think any further damage was caused, does that sound right.
In the mean time i dont know if the radio is fixed, they said I have the most current sftwr so they replaced the steering wheel controls in hopes that does it. Im currently sporting a blue bare bones v50. to all of you 50 owners I wouldnt trade my 40 for it but I do love the space. I had to buy some rolls of sod and didnt need my wifes mdx for it just lay a tarp and fold the seats .
Im hoping I'll get my car back soon and fixed correctly this time. To everyone that has had dlr problems I would recommend giving volvo of na a call, $$$ speaks and the last thing a dlr wants is to have their rebates and incentives cut by "dad".
