which model and what packages would you have most likely bought? I bought but have not taken possession of my MIL's S80 w/36k miles on it. Bought it sight unseen. Figure the dealer came off the the list price somewhat but didn't give it away. Wife, and I both work, had kids at 3 different places (as of today 2 woohoo). I bought it for the price, 7k, the mileage, and I know the original owner and how she drives and takes care of her car (It isn't even broken in yet I'll bet). Plus there's the extended warranty and the fact the FIL will step up if there are any problems. He even just did the 36k or whatever's close inspection and put 4 new wheels on it. So buying it unseen isn't a problem for me. But I'm not sure what it is I bought lol other than it's a S80. I've asked my inlaws. It has a CD Player was the response I got. She decided to get a Toyota so once that's delivered I'll go and pick it up. Oh, dealer was willing to give him 8900 for it if that's a reference point as well (Brentwood Volvo in St. Louis). Thanks.

My guess is that it is a 2.9 and not the T6. Other than that, there really isnt a difference with the s80 other than the Executive edition which has a fridge, dvd player, etc.
You could ask her to go outside and read what the trunk lid says. It will either state s80 2.8 or s80 T6.
Congrats man, welcome to the dark side

Re: (Copeland)

Thanks. I have to pick up my daughter over there on the way home so maybe I'll scootch out to there garage. Definately, no fridge in the car. Maybe I'll put my FAL in the trunk and take a pic when we take possession lol. Or better yet I'll lay out a parts kit I'll build into a semi at a future date.

Nautical Blue. Taupe/tan interior. Only been in it once. It will be immaculate for the most part. I will take pics. I've taken them of the 98 S70 already but haven't had time to upload.
In case you're talking about my FAL, it's OD Green

we'll see if this works

A few things to ask if you wanna know more about the options:
If the in dash head unit is a 4 disc in dash changer, you got the premium Dynaudo sound.
If the air re-circulation button has "AUT" on the left side of it, you have the upgraded air filtration system.
If you have seat heater buttons on the climate control panel, you have the climate package with seat heaters, rain sensing wipers, and headlight washers.
If you have a leather e-brake handle and a grocery bag holder in the trunk, you have the touring package (this ones changed a few times, but you may also have laminated side glass if the windows say "laminated" or have a pic of a little hammer bouncing off the glass.
There's more, but I cant think of them right now.
Tim

Re: (Copeland)

Well, any 36K mile car (well almost) is a good deal for $7000.
Even if it's a 2.9 and unless it's a total POS, it's still a very good deal

I just stopped by the brickboard and it doesn't look like S80s are a well thought of car.
S80 nautical blue tan interior or Taupe
36k miles driven by MIL and serviced at each interval.
for $7,000 US.
Knowing what my FIL paid for it ($44,000) and given the ambiguity of their knowledge of what they had I thought maybe the amount spent might ballpark what it is I'm buying. Normally don't buy like this but like I said I know the original owner and low mileage, low dollar price=good deal. Plus I know that she just wants a new car, that it wasn't a regular at the dealership for repairs.
