Noticed an oil like substance on the garage floor today. What do you think this is? Is that moon shaped cutout to the left of the middle bolt supposed to be like that? That's not the drain plug right? Sorry for the sh1tty cell pictures. I took these shoots by laying down in front of my front bumper and by reaching my hand under the engine.
Think it has to go into the dealer in the morning. What you think??
Thanks! Re: I think I sprung a leak??? (Dubfound)

Looks like a slave cylinder leak to me. Get ready to spend about $2K if you're out of warranty.
Or it could be your rear main seal.
I hope I'm wrong!
Cheers,
Jeff
note: edited to mention rear main seal

Probably worth it though.

Thanks for that color clarification Chilled, I found some yellow brown fluid (from the car all you dirty minds) that I suspected was my rear diff. Dealer confirmed that and so does your post, thanks.

Welcome to the $2500 out of the wallet club.
Be sure they get the new down tube installed as well. Otherwise you will have shudder. It is a TSB that was put out a while back.

According the Volvo tech the told me about it, it is a larger diameter tube that goes from the Slave inside the bell housing to the outside that connects to the hose that goes to the Master Cylinder reservoir.
According to him, Volvo found that a issue was slight shutter and loss of pressure due to lack of fluid flow. I think it was from it being to small and the gunk the builds up over time. Thus I think why our cars have all killed clutches early. He found it after a repair of the slave on the R and it not working well.
There is a TSB on it now, it had not been released when my friend did the R repair.
