I have been pretty buisy lately with school, but I did manage to install evovle's 3'5 dp and exhaust. I had my car already chipped by them, but with these other mods I sent back in my ecu to be reflashed for the parts.
The installation sucked but 2 friends and I managed to get it done with a jack and 4 pegs. I would much rather had a lift, but I couldnt wait or pay for using one. It took about 5 hours but we got it on.
The car seemed a little loud once we took it out but after 3 tanks of gas the car has gotten alot quieter. The dp and exhaust is perfect sounds amazing. I didn't get evolve advanced exhaust for fear of it being to loud. Judgiing by what I already have on my car it probably isnt to loud. I would still reccomend the sport exhaust though. The car pulls extremely hard in 3rd and 4th gear. 1st and 2nd pull pretty hard but now the car just flies right threw so you really cant judge them that much. I actually got my Ecu back before my parts came. This is reflashed for the 3'5 dp and exhaust. WEll I couldn't wait for my parts to come so I called evolve to make sure it was safe to drive untill I have the parts installed and that was a yes. The car seemd like it was running more boost could hear the turbo wislte a bit more and quite a bit more power threw midrange once I installed the ECU.
I drove the car like that for 2 days and became pretty noticeable that there was more power than the first reflash. Once we got the parts on the car was actually very sluggish it almost felt stock drove it for about 20 mins and seemed to slowly pick up more and more power. It was actually quite loud then after 4 tanks of gas it pulled really hard and was way quiter and smoother. Gas mileage was also sucking really bad I went from averaging 18.7 to like 17.0. After probably 8 tanks of gas it has slowly but surely picked up mileage which makes me alot happier. I was freaked out when it was so bad. After gone threw 8 tanks the car iactually is even more quite and smoother and pulls harder. Anyone know why this is? Is the car slowly adapting to the new mods?
Thanks
Any question abou the mods please feel free to ask.

Re: I now have Evovle chip, 3'5 downpipe, and exhaust installed and its fast! (phuz)

I drove it pretty slowly for about 5 min and I uncorked it once to see and it felt as slow as stock.
after 3 tanks I drove it a little harder. I wanted to give the car time to adjust. I think that might have dropped it some but i still think the car has pickewd up more power since then I always drive it the same. my average went from 17.5 now to 18.1.
any questions or comment on the mods please feel free to ask.

Re: (legbend)

taking of the stock dp. What made it bad was laying underneath the car. The bolts freaking sucked to take out. we had to heat of the turbo house to get them out. I always herd about peolple doing it that way so we did, and we managed to snap one of the bolts luckly above the threads so we were about to take the other ones out and take fo the stock dp.
The threads were sticking out f the turbo housing and I was about to have a nervous break down at that point. So we decided to spray som pentratinf stuff on the threads sticking out. We then went and ate and came back 30 min later. We then were going to use vice grips to try to screw it out and I reached up to clamp them on and some how magically the rest of the broken bolts just came out. I didnt even have to use the vice grips. The darn broken bolts unscrewed by hand easily came out. I was we should have use that penetrating crap in the first place.
For future reference spray the bolts with penetrating formula beofre you try to take them out. Its way easier. WE then use a spare bolt in the shop and made do with that one. I have a new one on now though. I didnt have any problems with the different bolt once we installed everything and drove it. Thats one of the reasons why I took it easy on the car for fear of the other bolt backing out.
other than the dp problem and having to work on my back it was to hard. shoot putting on the new mods was easy once the stock crap was off.

Re: (Helmut Ranff)

Actually whats freaken awesome is some how I have an S60 factory body kit bumper mixed in with the rest of the S60r body kit. Which has a smaller hole. Its kindove oval shaped not squared like the other one, but oval and it fits perfect in it. I mean perfect. The tip it oval the hole is oval man it looks custom. The s60 rear body kit bumper is exactly the same of the s60R's rear bumper but the hole for the exhaust.
I'll take some picutres sometime and post. I wish I had some to show you guys.
I'm not sure. Too clean too often is probably not good. Check the K&N website since they use basically the same technology as the BMC filter.
LTA
Re: (Stoobey)

For your air filter ?
Only oil it after you clean and dry it thougly. Follow instruction in the "recharge" kit. Don't over oil it!
Should only need recharged once a year, unless you live in a very dusty area.

Would need to see a picture to understand. Will be interested to see. Either way it sounds that you are enjoying it so that is good

Yes once you installed the new exhaust setup the ECU/M will have to make changes if it's a true reflash . The fuel mileage complaint is a joke to me, I get 13.8 when I'm driving my "R" hard. Too bad you didn't run the car in the 1320 or even the 660 to see what you really gained.

You should post this in the ask IPD area. Scott Hart is online right now
I know the softloader comes on in Sept according to another thread.

I've never averaged more than 15 except on freeway trips (where it hits the low-mid 20's). I'm at 14.6 mpg avg for the last three tanks of gas, and I haven't been driving particularly hard. Mileage was not a consideration for me in purchasing the car.
