I received my new 18" OZ Ultraleggera's with PS2's last week and had them sitting in the garage waiting for a sunny weekend to install. The weather has not been so good in Denver lately and I thouht I would be sensible and wait until the weather turned better. That was all well and good but I couldn't stop thinking about them. I keep wondering how much difference in accelleration they might make, what combination of spacers will look best, etc.... So on my way home from working late this evening I decided to put them on. The problem is it was 11:30 at night and I have a presentation to give at 8:00. Well they are on the car and look fantastic. To top it off I am sitting here writing this post because I can't sleap. When my wie finds out I put the wheels on in the middle of the night(or even that I bought them for that matter), she may have me committed. At least I can stop thinking about it, or at least the wheels, since I am still waiting for my EST cat back and IPD springs! By the way, I used 5mm spacers in the back, none in the front (et 38 I think) which is close to 10mm on the front and 15mm on the rear with pegs. Happy Obsessing!!

Thanks Kelly.
I rememeber traveling space available to surf some interesting spots the old MAC used to fly to in the 80's. Between C-141's and being bumped by a full birds I gave that activity up.
-Jon

Ironically, I have SSWs in my basement, with no hub rings yet...
And I have Ultraleggeras in transit...
I understand your dilemma.
If the future owner of the SSWs doesn't mind, I can do a pic of one of each wheel on the R at the same time...

Re: (wrxownr)

What ever happened to the Volutions deal where they were being redesigned for "car" purposes vice SUV purposes (meaning lighter & less expensive). Anyone remember that thread? I think the North American VP stated that this was happening, and would be imminently coming out @ cheaper prices to boot... Now that spring is around the corner, a lot of us are ready to purchase wheels/tires to swap from Winter setup's.

141s? What luxury! I remember too many hops in C-130s with a porta-potty strapped to the floor in front of me. Also had the occasional ride in the belly of a S3 Viking.

Quote, originally posted by ForceReconTrojan »

Thanks Kelly.
I rememeber traveling space available to surf some interesting spots the old MAC used to fly to in the 80's. Re: (mike_c70)

I have had no sleep, negotiated a big land deal today and have to go to a condo launch party in a couple of hours. I'll snap a couple of pics and post tomorrow evening. Kelly, I still have catching up to do, my springs aren't on, my exhaust isn't here and I haven't painted my side trim yet. Please don't bomb my wagon, it is just starting to come into its own.
I have to say, the effect of reducing reciprocating mass is significant. I had 17" pegs previously and the car pulls much harder above 3k rpm than with the pegs. The only other mod is the BMC filter which also made a noticable difference between 4,500-6,500rpm.
My wife is going to see the car with the OZ's tonight when we we take her to the condo opening. I plan on telling her that my client bought them for me. Wish me luck!
