I am looking into buying a 2010 55K Volvo S40 and the dealer is trying to push warranty? My wife thinks I should listen to the sales man but I will not make a decision until I have some more incite. What are your thoughts?

Welcome to Swedespeed, Kyle.

If the car is a Volvo Certified used S40 then go with the warranty. If not a Certified car (but an as-is by dealer) then consider passing on the deal.

Hmmm. I would have thought the opposite. Up here in Canada, a Volvo certified car comes with a warranty. Something like it extends the factory warranty up to 6 years. So buying an additional one would be a waste ( unless you want to take the warranty to like 10+years) They value it at $1500 and build it into the price. The AS-IS cars are the ones that raise an eyebrow to me...

I'm curious to know your reasoning.

Shaun.
