I noticed a post regarding brake squeal when backing up. I have a similar problem, but it is not a squeal. Just hang with me until you read the whole explanation. At various times I hear what sounds like the low pitch sound or hum of drum brakes on my old VW. Now first, YES I know my S60 T5 does not have drum brakes, I only stated it SOUNDS like that (as you can see the dealer has already irked me on this one). It occurs typically from a stop to about 5-10 MPH. What is odd is it will occur on cold mornings right from the house, and also on the freeway after hours of driving in hot weather. I cannot seem to duplicate the cause, all I know is it is random and is annoying as hell. Anybody else having this type of problem? Any suggestions? I thought it was coming from the right rear, but the other day I swear it was from the right front. Not really sure.
Since this is my first post, I guess I must also say how much I do love the car. 2001 S60 T5 - White with Tan Leather - 17" Tethys that I had chromed (too bad that brake dust builds up soo fast). Also got my first ticket (1st in my entire life - 15 years of driving) for doing 58 in a 40. Even the cop had some nice comments about the way the car looked (still gave me the ticket though)!
Thanks in advance for the suggestions...
