Hello all. My owner's manual swears that I should be able to open all the doors AND the trunk if I turn it a second time, but the trunk doesn't open. Also, (and this is my ONLY gripe with the car) their is no 'trunk pop' button in the car if you want to open the trunk for your passenger, other than the remote. I am waiting for the day my remote dies and then I have to pop out that lock in the trunk (what is that about???) Otherwise, I absolutely LOVE this car. Thanks.

On the underside of the trunk lid above the license plate there is an oval-shaped rubber area. This is the trunk release. As long as your doors are unlocked (remote, 2 key twists, or door button) then lifting on the trunk lid while pressing the trunk release will open the trunk. Basically, the trunk behaves like a door: it can be unlocked but latched closed.

Also, near the trunk release there's a black plug with a picture of a key on it. If your trunk release breaks or the car battery is dead then you can remove the black plug and use your key to open the trunk.

I'm pretty sure that this is mentioned in the owner's manual. I know it's not the most exciting thing to read, but you'll probably get a lot more out of your car by going through it. Enjoy your T5! Automatic or manual?

You say, "...I should be able to open all the doors AND the trunk if I turn it a second time, but the trunk doesn't open." Do you mean, turn the key in the driver's door a second time? Turn the key in the trunk lock?

Further, the trunk can be opened from the back of the car, IF the car is unlocked, by depressing the rubber area near the trunk lock.

What do you mean, that there "...is no 'trunk pop' button in the car if you want to open the trunk for your passenger, other than the remote. I am waiting for the day my remote dies and then I have to pop out that lock in the trunk (what is that about???)" What do you mean "pop out that lock"? Why would you need to do that?

Maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying.

MikeCollins86, depending on the security package you bought, I believe there may be a trunk lock button on your dash board. If it is enabled (it is lit when it is enabled) then your trunk will not unlock even if you push the remote twice. Look around for a button on your dash that might relate to your trunk and you may solve your problem.

Good luck.
