Time to replace the fuel filter in my B18 Amazon. How do I identify the part needed? The shop manual has no fuel filter reference. It is an in line filter. Pretty ordinary but I do not know which to get.

Thanks.

While there are a number of suppliers and sources, I bought my Bosch filters from IPD (their item #100269). These clear ones make it easy to monitor fuel flow.

If you don't already have two filters installed (one upstream and one downstream of the pump), I'd recommend it. The downstream filter on my Amazon just recently caught debris when my pump failed.

t; Those cute, inexpensive plastic-cased filters are nothing fancy...they don't need to be, with our low-pressure systems...you'll find them from VW bug suppliers for $2 last time I checked, which admittedly was a while ago...I seem to recall also seeing them for a motorcycle or snowmobile (both gravity fed, so again low-pressure systems)...maybe Moss Motors or some other British supplier has them also...

Chris; I agree, being able to see flow and what might be getting caught (to eventually impede it) is quite handy...our friend Tom Bryant the SU specialist, doesn't like a pre-Pump filter so much, but I've seen rust-chips and nasties come from the Tank, and caught by the pre-Pump filter, which I'd just as soon not sent through the Pump... I like your Air-Filter setup...looks like stock plates with K&N E9145 elements sandwiched in there, for gooood breating!

Cheers

Ron: I’ll admit I was initially skeptical of the double filter practice until I saw way too many Amazons with them. Added the downstream filter just in time before my pump cashed in.

The air filters (“Green Filter”) are from VP; new competitor to K&N (same basic idea with better materials), replaced my lower-profile K&Ns. Added the Volvo decals for a stock look. Haven’t driven enough to assess improvement, but better breathing has to be a good thing.
