I was wondering if there was any specific reason you took the metal off of the inducer. Can you leave it without cutting it out and taping it? Would that not work?

It would work but that thing adds some good bulk, would make it harder to hide. Only takes a little bit to cut off

Reviving an oldie.

I have a S80 with the 4C. I plan on replacing the shocks with standard shocks. IPD has a writeup that like Volvo sells a lot of fear. Does disabling the 4C affect the other safety functions? I think no based on the fact that the system goes into standard shock mode if there is a fault. So if I don't do this write up, and hit the button once to turn of the "active chassis service required" warning when I start driving, all else will be fine.

Any thoughts?
