A month ago I got the brake fluid low message, my clutch pedal was low so I knew I needed brake pads. I got that done and the clutch was back to normal. A few days ago I topped off the brake/ clutch reservoir since the message came back and the clutch was very low. The clutch pedal is still soft and I can't shift into any gears. I made it home to park in my garage, thankfully. Maybe there's air in the system. How do I bleed the clutch system. TIA http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Re: (AthruC)

I took the airbox out and found the clutch bleeder on the transmission. Its not going to be easy to bleed the clutch, its at an awkward angle and not much room.

Re: (Chilled Man)

It was easier to reach the clutch bleed valve by removing the airbox and reaching from up top. The bleed valve was 11mm. A shorter than normal wrench would have been helpful. I kept hitting the fan housing with the other end of the wrench.

Re: (SleepR)

Here are some pics of the slave clutch bleeder. Although the slave has been leaking for quite a few months, I have been driving it daily, leaving spots where I park. Just don't have the $$ to get it fixed properly by an indy. I've been going through a big bottle of brake fluid once a week, so its pretty far gone. Meaning I top off the fluid a couple of days a week. Hope the pics help. You can see the bleeder is wet in the pics.
Even if your clutch pedal stays on the floor, the car is still driveable. Crack the bleeder open till it weeps fluid, not much will come out, fill the reservoir, close the bleeder, let the car idle for a few minutes testing the clutch pedal every so often, pressure will build up to be able to shift the car into gear.
