Interesting.
My torque rod was recently replaced in order to try and fix the vibration (the rod was worn out). Car was not noisy at idle before that.
Now, with the new torque rod it's noisy as hell, and the vibration is a lot worse too.
Just FYI, the 2020 has a newly designed torque rod which I think substantially reduces the engine vibration in to the cabin. If you're game for splashing out $100 to try it out, it's easy to replace. The new part number is 31682684. I put a picture on the thread here...

This is great info. I'm curious if there were any additional NVH benefits around this new torque rod beyond less engine noise. Did you find that it also reduced road noise at all? I'm pretty sure on my P3 S60 that my failing motor mounts are also a source of a slight uptick in road noise.

Any downsides? I'd be interested to know if all that extra rubber introduces more drivetrain lash as compared with a fresh original design torque mount, or if it might be more susceptible to tearing over time.

I wouldn't say I specifically noticed any reduction in road noise, but I was mainly measuring the overall noise in the cabin with a db meter (hardware one, not phone app). I am pretty sure most of, if not all, the noise reduction was from the engine vibration. As for drivetrain lash, I don't even know what that is, sorry.

Thanks for your impressions so far. Lash refers to the sensation of drivetrain movement which is mostly felt in jerkiness in your throttle control, especially when you get on and off the throttle abruptly. Significant drivetrain lash, sometimes accompanied by premature motor mount failure, is often a biproduct of very soft motor mounts when a manufacturer tries to hide a thrashy motor behind a lot of rubber isolation points in order to make a car seem more refined.

I'm pretty sure it will, but will this also fit my 2018 XC60 R-Design T8?

I'd be very surprised if it didn't. A way to find out would be to look up the part number on a parts supply site like Tascaparts.com and see the list of applications it fits. Or you could look for the part under a search specific to XC60 T8 engine parts on tasca. You might have to type in the newer year model, however. Otherwise there's a chance you'll automatically be sent to the older-spec part. Another way to cross reference would be to look up part numbers for the 2018 T5 and T8 torque mounts to see if they are the same. You could then be almost certain that 2020 torque mounts would be interchangeable, whether or not they are listed as such for 2020.

Just ordered it but I’m having a hard time finding the torque values for the bolts.

I didn’t use a torque wrench on mine. I tightened it but not insanely tight, but tight enough that it won’t be going anywhere yet not so tight that I’d stretch a bolt or be unable to break it loose with a ratchet in the future. I don’t think this is one where meeting an exact torque spec is crucial like it would be on a rotating assembly.
