I had a chance to do some highway testing today, and I know some of you are eager to call B.S....but you don't bother me
Test conditions:
77 degrees F
79% humidity
No wind.
Test 1: Flat road, cruise set at 75mph, 6th gear.
A/C off: 33.4 mpg
A/C on: 28.8 mpg
Test 2: Slight incline, cruise set at 70mph, 6th gear
A/C off: 25.3 mpg
A/C on: 22.8 mpg
Test 3: Slight decline, cruise set to 70mph, 6th gear
A/C off: 47.8 mpg
A/C on: 38.2 mpg
Test 4: Somewhat steep incline, cruise set to 69mph, 6th gear
A/C off: 19.3 mpg
A/C on: 17.9 mpg

Test results: The more you are sloped downward, the more the A/C affects your MPG. The steeper the incline, the less it affects it. I found this very interesting, but nonetheless, I was very happy to see my flat road MPG status. I believe it has increased 1.5-2 mpg since I switched to 3" exhaust pipe. I cannot wait to see how I do going to Ocean City, MD next weekend...and two weeks after that I have a 430 mile journey to OBX. Results to come.
