Just saw other Volvo forums with this same topic that had a bunch of replies & thought I'd start one.

OUT THE DOOR.

Mine was a graduation gift from High-school, but IIRC my parents paid 25k out the door. It was the last -05 on the lot so they gave us a deal.
T5, premium, cold weather pkg.

Purchased CPO with warranty, ~$28K. More expensive here, and the car market was still doing well.
Mods? About 3500. Wheels, tires, coilovers, grill, paint/bodywork labor for the grill painting and spoiler delete, and for labor on the coilover install which I'm still pretty salty about.

13.300 euros, so roughly about $18.600 for a 3 year old V50 -
and about 2.000 euros / $2.800 for mods (amp, woofer, tint, strut bar, H&Rs, rear spoiler, sport steering wheel, after-factory aluminium... etc)

I paid $13,500 for mine, but with registration and shipping it was about $15k. The original sticker price (which was in the pouch in the glovebox) was $42k. My car included the MS Design body kit, Heico pedal set and grille, and a few other little things. From the factory it had Nav, premium sound, etc. Basically all options except bi-xenon.
I haven't tallied up the amount of money I've put into it since then, but I've gone through 5 sets of wheels and a lot of other mods (springs, intake, mirrors, spoiler, custom lip, coilovers, etc). I'd roughly estimate another $3-5k spent on all the stuff, but I got a lot of that back when I sold the sets of wheels and other parts I didn't end up using.
I was very happy with my price I paid, since at the time the next cheapest S40 T5 AWD was around $18,500 and it had more miles and wasn't black on black.

Re: (crossie)

LOL. Well, the body kit and Heico grille and pedals were part of the price I paid. The dealership was trying to tack on a few thousand for all of the extras, and I said nope, I already will have to spend $1200 to get it shipped to me. They also tried to jack the price up a couple grand more than their asking price after I expressed serious interest, but I talked directly to the owner leting him know bait and switch doesn't work.
I also refuse to pay retail for anything: if I had paid retail for everything I've put into my car or bought thinking I would use on my car it would definitely be over $3-5K, especially seeing as the iForged would've been $3300 new. Right now I am kinda missing those wheels.

Re: (carreragt7)

So far i havent had to pay full retail on any of the parts ive got. I just keep looking and dont settle on full price lol. I got my S40 for 15k from a chevy dealer down in renton. They didnt know what they had and were kinda retarded so i was able to get it for under blue book value

I think the price people have spent in mods, is a very uneasy subject for most people. I'm not sure If i want to think about it myself.

Re: (Modernman)

Yeah Modernman, I'm right there with you. Someone at work asked me how much I've spent on upgrading my car, so I tried to itemize it for them and was blown away by how much I've dropped on the car! It's also scary that I was 95% done with the upgrading 9 months after buying the car! And that was with $1000 a month car payments (the parents are both in finance, and they figured if they weren't getting interest, $1000 a month was reasonable. I overpaid some months just to show them!! haha)
