It got me thinking. I had 21 extra miles on my R from drop off in Koln, Germany to pickup at the dealer in Pleasanton, CA. How did all those miles get on the car? How many other OSDers have had similar high mileage from being driven on and off the boat?

I will say that the car was still in immaculate condition, so whomever was driving it around was very careful.

Our XC90 from two years ago was dropped off in Gothenburg with 5219 miles, and we picked it up with 5224. Part of that was our local dealer driving to a nearby gas station to fill up the vehicle for us.

I have never had any issues with an OSD unit returning home with any type of unusual miles put on it. Maybe 4-7, as was described by nc earthquake...but nothing that would indicate that the vehicle was driven for any other purpose than to facilitate checking operating systems and getting on/off trucks and the dealer getting it ready for final delivery.
