I wanted to take off the rear mudflaps from my V70 to clean out all the gunk underneath them and noticed one screw and two or three rivet like fasteners.....is there some special volvo tool to take the rivet like fasteners off or do you have to destroy them and buy new ones?
Thanks!
-Larry

I'm afraid that rivets are rivets...and the only special tool you need to remove them is a drill.
The good news is that when you replace them, if you use a stainless steel screw and nylock nut, you'll be able to remove them much more easily next time. If you do re-rivet them on be sure to use an aluminum rivet to prevent rust.
- Darell
