...I mean the one on the bottom of the turbo. I know some people have done it so I tried doing it the other night with no luck. How the hell do you pull that sucker out. I am able to get to the spring clamp but no way I can squeze it with my fingers or fit a tool back there to pull it out. The biggest PITA I have ever had to deal with on my car, considering that I have changed springs, installed swaybars, custom fmic, downpipe, exhaust.... and many other things my self but this is a real PITA. It is just so hard to get to it. I don't thing the Swedes have thought about replacing thta thing unless you pull the turbo out. I had a buddy pushing the engine to the front so I can get more room back there - no dice.
Any ideas/advices would be much appreciated!

Stoyan, without looking at it directly, is it possible to get to it from underneath, jacking up the front end...going up the same passage that you use for the downpipe?

Whoa, if Stoyan is struggling with this, it *must* suck. Good luck man, I have no idea.

Wait, can you get something sharp up in there to cut a slice throught the hose where it's stuck to the turbo? I've done this before (not for this car). If so, and then you can yank it out, if you think you'll be able to push on the new line once the old one is off.

Matt, Joe, I had the car up in the air on a stand and there was no way to get to it from underneath the fiting is between the bottom of the turbo and the transmission mount. The only way to reach it is from the top.

When I was looking for a dropped torx bit, I was able to get comfortable on top of the motor, laying down across it. I literally pulled my self right over the turbo by pulling on the engine bar. From that vantage point I could stick my arm down past the turbo easily. Have you tried this? Plus, it gives new meaning to "loving your R".

If you have a mirror, you can put it on the ground, so you can see the underside of what you're grabbing for. And it increases the R love as one would expect

Haha, I did give my R a lot of love the other night. Good thing my wife wasn't around then.

I am able to reach the clamp but can't get a good grip of it to pull it out. I even got my arms all scratched from trying real hard.

Kinda sounds like ur gonna need to talk to someone with a lift. Jackstands will let u under it, but makes the hose too far away from you, huh? How about some stupid-long needle-nose pliers? Ive seen some that would have to reach. Also, you could remove the lower mount if thats the only thing in the way. Good luck, and let me know if you need to make a parts run and ur R is non-driveable.

Remove intake
Remove Intake hose that goes from the intake to the turbo itself
Disconect the PCV Valve and plug that goes to it
Access boost hose with set of long offset needlenose pliers

you cant get to it from the bottom due to the angle gear.

Shoudl take about 20-30 min to do all your vaclines

Got it! All done! Removing the intake hose is the key.

It's a bit more work but it does give you a lot more room around the damn thing.

ahh no prob not to sure other wise how to get there , unless your FWD then you can from the bottom but its still easier to remove the intake hose
