Re: how do i set my clock (chewyjr15)

The owner's manual is online here. Instructions for the clock are on page 38.
I notice that your profile says you have a 2004 model year S40. Do you mean 2004.5? (Does your car look like the car on the front page of the manual?) If not, and you really do have a 2004 S40, you're in the wrong forum. This forum is for model years 2004.5 and up, which is a totally different car. The forum for 2004 and earlier is here.
Edit: Never mind on my question. I see in another post that you say you have a T5, so you are in the right place.

There's also a couple of little buttons sticking out of your dash - how about trying to push/turn and otherwise play with them? It ain't rocket science, you know.
The right one is a clock setting, just give it a try and see what changes. Nothing is going to blow up, don't worry. Sometimes a little bit of curiousity and common sense do magic.

Just because you are a GENIUS doesn't mean everyone else is. Sometimes a little bit of courtesy goes a long way.

Hey, take it easy and read what you quote, dude. The second part is about courtesy:
<Quote>
The right one is a clock setting, just give it a try and see what changes.
</Quote>
No???

Lets just say I have had a bad last 5 days.
Wednesday of last week: Rock hits wifes windshield ('06 S40 T5) and cracks it. Get that fixed.
Friday of last week: Wife gets rear ended on Interstate. Destroys bumper and quarter panel. Still have to get that fixed.
Sunday: Blower motor goes out on sewer system at home. $410 to fix
Today: Another rock hits wife's windshield and cracks in different place. Still have to get that fixed.
Today: Dad was using my tractor ('05 Kubota) to clear off some of my property... Tranny starts grinding and will no longer go in and out of 4 wheel drive.
All this and I am stuck working on a drill ship out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico for the past three weeks and still have a few days to go.
Sorry if I took it the wrong way.

Re: how do i set my clock (Widgeonus)

Nuh, NM, you really had a bad week, I feel for you, hope it's the last of bad things for this year, you've spent all your limit .
I may have been a bit harsh on the guy, but the question is so much simple, and Volvo's clock is so much same as in every other car...
After all, the first rule of any forum is - "before you ask other people to spend time helping you, try to do your homework first", which didn't seem like a case here, considering the [in]complexity of the topic

Re: how do i set my clock (d_man)

Not the first time any of us have seen this kind of thing go wrong on a discussion board. I guess its called flaming, and it sucks. I thought the age group / demographic of this board would lead to less flaming than on the VWVortex boards, but its just different (not gone). Disappointing.
So, yeah, its the stalk on the right. Give it a twist. Good luck with that, hopefully you'll be back and get a little more respect.

i'm on the fence about this one... and I know why people would blow the "respect" horn, but it's about a clock, not new wheels or audio settings or new suspension.
The clock.
I'm on the respect side too, but sometimes it's too easy.

Re: how do i set my clock (GoBigRed)

I'm going to chime in to defend d_man. I did not think his response was too harsh. He did answer the OP's question.
I myself do not like to help those that don't put in an effort. One would think something like adjusting the clock is definitely in the manual. I know most of us are too lazy to pull out the manual, but it's online now so it's not that bad.
Seeing it from chewyjr15 point of view, he's just excited about the car and can barely contain himself. You can easily see this in his posts. Words are all meshed up and mistyped. He is also asking about performance parts when he barely has money.
2c.

Re: how do i set my clock (volvoNB)

Thanks Digitalpmp and VolvoNB for backing me up
They call *this* flaming? Try other forums, especially ones for sysadmins, and those things are still not considered as flaming
Typing is another thing, I didn't even want to touch that topic, but basically "unliwwinesst ott ypep ropperli" means disrespect to other readers, plain and simple.
As of performance upgrades- to me T5 (FWD) does not need any upgrades until stock tires have been thrown away. I took mine to autocross a couple of times, and while it's more then enough power/braking/steering, very little body roll- traction sux big time. I was unable to push it any more then old ladies in buicks , tires started slipping all the way

If you can't take the time to proof read your post, I have no time to respond. I agree wholeheartedly with you guys on that subject. Not that I want to be chief of the grammar police, but I am offended by misspelling or mistyping when it's a result of rushing your post.
And it would seem that in most cases if it can be found in the owner's manual, it might be quicker to turn to that rather then turn on a computer, login (like I have to), log onto the internet (like I have to), go to the forum, post your question, wait wait wait wait...wait for response, and then retrieve the response and go try it.
Sorry to anyone that doesn't agree. I guess that's what makes us human, we disagree and we don't have to duel to the death to settle it. Life goes on.
And who has time to check what time it is when you're (generally ) having so much fun driving? I certainly lose track of time.
Ok, enough rambling...back to work.
