1764 Views 27 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  yerrow
I can't get over the Lag My 06 auto has. I feel like it takes a while to hit 60 mph Top end is INSANE in my car now tho with Bsr chip. I finaly Raced my buddies M3 from 20-125 mph and Pulled him by 2 cars Last night.. great feeling.
But lower gears seem weak.
Any mods I can do to fix this? I have a exhaust on order will this help abit? Maybe a Intake?
Thanks

It would have to have be a twin turbo V8, right? You couldn't put a turbo on just one set of headers, you would have to do both. I think.
a single turbo would work

Well, while you are correct about this, what passenger car that you know of has the room underhood for that kind of plumbing arrangement?

Ford mustang V8

uh, that's a biturbo.

uh, you're right.

Anyway, a single turbo setup obviously requires less space than a biturbo.

I am not standing on very good ground, having never seen a passenger car single turbo setup on a veed engine, so I'm not arguing, just curious. How do you get the exhaust from one bank over to the other side where the turbo is? I would think that the plumbing would be pretty hellish and take up more room than having one turbo on each side.

I'd like to see what one looked like, I'm curious.

This car will make an incredible sound of death when doing a brake start. I tested it and it was saying in loud words, " Do not do this to me"

Britspeed executed a sweet brake boost takeoff from a stop light next to me. I didn't hear any sound that was remotely bad at all.

BTW, his car launched really hard and his is an 04. (Though he has ipd ecu)

Yes it is really not a sound of death that you would hear out side of the car

I mean really feeling or vibration of death or strain on the mounts feeling that was very not natural and did not seem to be good

needsdecaf: it depends on turbo location. having a 2" or 3" pipe running over to a single collector isnt difficult. drag cars do it all the time. the only passenger setup i can think of is a 1989 turbo trans am, and it was a v6, but none the less, its still a V-engine.
As JRL once put it these cars are not drag cars, not engineered to stand on the gas + brake...reallly sounds like it's being tortured.

Now, with regards to the turbo v8s, I can most definetly think of one kit that is for LS1 and LT1 Camaro/Trans ams and the MY 05 Mustang GT...although they do offer some twin turbo kits too.

They specialize in remote mounting...interesting concept.

and there are a few single turbo kits out for the g35/z also which are obviously not a v8 but a v6. many people would prefer a single turbo kit opposed to a twin kit because of costs and turbo sizing restraints
